Digital Archaeology Network: Exercise for Advanced GIS-User

A workshop with Geoinformatician Andrea Schlickmann

After our basic course on Geodesy and Geoinformation Systems (GIS), the Digital Archaeology Network of BerGSAS is pleased to be able to invite you to the advanced course for GIS in November. During the workshop, the participants will have the opportunity to perform advanced spatial analysis and will be introduced to Python coding and automated workflows with Graphic Modeler and PyQGIS. These essential topics for modern archaeological research will be expertly explained by Andrea Schlickmann, who brings her experience as both an archaeologist and a geoinformatician.

  • vector data analysis
  • PostGis-Databases
  • ATLAS
  • graphic modeller
  • site selection model
  • basic Python coding
  • PyQGIS
  • spacial simulation with GAMA (optional)

The workshop is open to all doctoral students, whether you are currently utilizing geoinformation systems in your research or simply wish to explore their vast potential, this workshop will cater to your needs and interests.
