Berliner Antike im virtuellen Raum - Personen und Objekte

Dec 02, 2020 | 07:00 PM

Berliner Antike-Kolleg welcomes visitors to its annual open-door event on 02 December.

The coronavirus pandemic will shape our annual event this year, as it has so many things. Experts from the fields of medicine, the history of medicine and archaeology have graciously agreed to speak: in brief lectures, Prof. Karl-Heinz Leven (Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Nürnberg-Erlangen), Dr Doris Gutsmiedl-Schümann (Freie Universität Berlin), Prof. Charlotte Roberts (Durham University) and Prof. Stefan Willich (Charité) will draw our attention to crises of the past and of modern times, describe the consequences they had for contemporary societies and address strategies for dealing with them. There will be opportunity for discussion after the lectures.

Another item on the program is the BAK’s official farewell to Prof. Cilliers Breytenbach in his role as spokesperson of the Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies (BerGSAS) for the Humboldt-Universität. Immediately following this, BerGSAS’ most recent graduates will receive certificates attesting to their successful completion of their doctoral studies.
