Pottery Network: "Working with pottery in museum collections"
The next meeting of the Berlin Archaeological Pottery Network will take place on September 29th, where we will look into the methodological issues behind working with pottery in museum collections. The topic will be presented by Dr. Christine Kainert (Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Universität Münster), who will share her experiences of handling and documenting archaeological materials when working in a museum in comparison to studies during an ongoing excavation. In addition we will also discuss the ethical aspects of collecting, storing, and exporting objects.

Pottery Network: "Pots equal people? Connecting pottery and identity making
Based on the case study of Greek import vessels in Celtic contexts presented by Ruben Wehrheim, we will discuss how archaeological finds can be used as evidence for cultural assimiliation, and in which cases these finds can guide or mislead the archaeological interpretation.
