Digital Classicist Seminar Berlin

This seminar series is organized by the Berliner Antike-Kolleg in cooperation with the Zentrum Grundlagenforschung Alte Welt at the BBAW. The seminar series covers topics related to the innovative application of modern digital methods, resources and techniques in a wide range of areas within the broader field of Classical Studies.

Topics include machine learning, linked open data and the semantic web, spatial and network analysis, techniques related to open science, image processing and visualisation, 3D developments, modern editing techniques, machine language processing and many more.

The Digital Classicist Seminar Berlin is based on the model of the London Digital Classicist Work in Progress Seminar. Since 2012, the seminar series has been organised in collaboration with various partners, including the German Archaeological Institute (DAI), the Freie Universität Berlin (FUB) and the Excellence Cluster Topoi. The BAK has been supporting the seminar series since the winter semester of 2019/20. Students at HU and FUB can receive credit points for attending the event.
