Workshop and Discussion
The workshop will focus on the challenges and potentials of reconstructing the ancient topography of the city of Rome. Modern approaches and methods in the topographical research will be discussed. New archaeological and topographical research in the city of Rome will be taken as examples on how to study ancient topography of crowded urban center through non-invasive methods.
Both events will be held in English. The lecture on the first day will be the starting point of the discussion on the second day. For this reason, I strongly recommend attending both events. However, a registration in advance is needed for attending second day only. Please register by writing an email to me before the 30th of June, francesca.zandonai@berliner-antike-kolleg.org. I encourage you to attend the lecture of Vincenzo Timpano even though you are not planning to attend the workshop on the second day, since new interesting research about Rome is going to be presented.
