Maryna Baranovska
Presentation of her artistic work
Afterwards, the Institut für Klassische Philologie invites you to join us for a reception.
Born in Kyiv, artist Maryna Baranovska explores the rift between humanity and nature in her work. Her large-scale, multi-layered paintings — created with pigment, charcoal, oil, and watercolour — open up transparent pictorial spaces that speak of flight, uprooting, and transformation. The forest, as a mythical place and spiritual home, runs like a leitmotif through her art. Historical references and contemporary social issues intertwine to form poetic and contemplative visual worlds.
