In this test topic, new photogrammetric techniques were used to digitize the archaeological findings at the Roman seaside villa at the Capo di Sorrento on the Gulf of Naples and incorporate them into 3-D models for the purposes of documentation, measurement and other analyses.

A representative selection of the squeezes of Latin verse inscriptions from Rome from the CIL (Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum) were 3-D digitized for use in further research, by scanning the latex casts and in some cases the associated paper casts, in the funded test topic "Digital Roman history: the first 3D collection of Latin inscriptions from the city of Rome from the collection of squeezes of the Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum".

This test topic focussed on the use of neutron tomography for the preservation of charred, and thus extremely fragile, archaeological objects.

A methodology comprised of advanced techniques for digital documentation, measurement and reconstruction were used to investigate tool marks, surface design and polychromy in this project.

In FDA wurden auch Maßnahmen zur "Entwicklung und Evaluation von Verfahren zur seriellen photogrammetrischen Erfassung archäologischer Kulturgüter" am Vorderasiatischen Museum (VAM) durchgeführt.
