PhD Project

In my PhD project I investigate the influence of Ancient Greek on the Demotic Language and Script. During the first phase of the project I will compile a corpus of the relevant textual witnesses and the therein used Greek loanwords. During the second phase the collected data will be evaluated by sociolinguistic methods as well as the research on language contact and the integration of loanwords. During the last phase of the project the complex dispute on the sense and purpose of these borrowings will be discussed extensively.

This dissertation project is being conducted within the research group B-4 Space - identity - locality. The construction of knowledge related identity spaces of the Excellence Cluster 264 Topoi.
