Structure and Governance of Berliner Antike-Kolleg
The Berliner Antike-Kolleg has four governing bodies: a Council, a Directorate, a Executive Board and an Advisory Board.
The Council consists of the presidents of the six founding institutions of BAK and decides on the agenda of BAK. The Executive Board and the Directorate are accountable to the Council of BAK, and hence to the supporting institutions.
The BAK is led by a Directorate, which consists of representatives of the six founding institutions. Its members decide on all questions of general or fundamental importance.
The Executive Board is elected by the Directorate. The governing body represents the interests and potentials of the various institutions that participate in BAK and accordingly, it promotes the systematic development of BAK and presents BAK in the academic community and the general public.
The International Advisory Board advises the Directorate and the Executive Board on all decisions on fundamental research matters. In addition, it examines and evaluates BAK’s activities and the cooperation of its partner.
