Chronoi - Panel Discussion
2017 in Berlin the Research Collegium Chronoi was opened and welcomes applications of potential fellows interested in research on Time and Awareness of Time in Ancient Societies.
In the focus of the Collegium are questions like: How different object times in material culture are related to concepts of time in different strata of society? How different concepts of time fit together in ancient societies? Is there a relation between evolution of awareness of time and different concepts of (measuring time) in cities, the countryside, religious and/or political institutions? Those questions will be discussed and answered in a panel consisting of the three directors of the Research Collegium, Eva Cancik-Kirschbaum, Christoph Markschies and Hermann Parzinger, but also with Berlin experts in Musical Archeology from the German Archeological Institute and Chronobiology from Charité University Medicine and Max Planck Society.
